You gain 5mm on the long end, but that's a lot less noticeable than losing 4mm on the wide end. You do obviously give up a bit on the wide end of the lens with the 28-75s. 470g/550g for the Sigma/Tamron respectively, and 695g for the GMii, compared with 835g for your Sigma 24-70 ART. The weight difference between the Sigma/Tamron and the GMii is noticeable though. But it's a pretty minimal difference, for literally twice the price. Nobody is going to argue that the GMii isn't an objectively better performing lens, because it is. You're giving up almost nothing in regards to usability, build and image quality vs the GMii. The Tamron and Sigma 28-75s are brilliant lenses. You will likely get used to it, and get a bit better conditioned/stronger if you're using it pretty regularly, but it can also be the difference between you being excited to take an awesome lens out and shoot with it, and deciding not to go out and shoot because you don't want to have to put up with lugging heavy glass around for hours. Weight absolutely matters, especially if you're having to carry the thing around for hours.
